Francisco Barragan sent in this summary of the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration that took place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Santa Ana on Dec. 12, along with the photos:
Saint Joseph’s Church in Santa Ana had “Las Mañanitas for La Virgen Maria” at 6:30 a.m. followed by a morning Mass today.
There was also a short-reenactment of Juan Diego showing his tilmatli to the priests and with the Virgen Maria stamped on it, and Juan Diego carrying the famous roses.
There was also a large group of indigenous dancers performing inside the church. Several Mass participants were also in the typical “guares” and “Juan Diego” outfits.
Afterwards, there was pan dulce and hot chocolate for attendees.
It was a beautiful morning Mass.
